Trying to identify this coin labeled as "India, 1 Rupi"
It appears to be a 20th century (1900-1999) made coin but I could not find it in the World Coin catalog under India or several other countries. The date on the lower reverse does seem to be Indian sanskrit that says 1994. The coin may be copper nickel or something similar, it is about 31mm in diameter, has a reeded edge, and is medal-turn. Does anyone know what this coin is, country, year, denomination, and KM#? Thanks!

Just lucky- had one of these about a year ago.
Mason and Bill, thanks very much, that answers my question for sure. There are two types listed for the X#M1, the original and a restrike;prooflike. I'm not sure which one mine is. Can either of you tell from my pictures? Thanks again, Gary
I don't know anything about restrikes. It is always a possibility, especially with later India coinage. The only book that I own that might be helpful is buried away somewhere.
On Facebook you will find an England and India based scholarly group called 'The Oriental Numismatic Society' who might be helpful.
Thanks Bill, here is a link to where I read about the restrikes:
