I don’t see any wear along the jaw and chin.
Surfaces nice and original.

Luster somewhat muted.

I would give it a 62.

I manage money. I earn money. I save money .
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

yes there is one minute scratch on face that is all ......

The scratch over the date was the first thing that I saw about the whole coin, but I did see the scratch on the cheek.

That looks like the remains of a die clash to me above the date. Looks like the bottom of the coat of arms from the reverse.

Few contact marks. The hair and the crown show clear wear. That takes it out of MS. Of course this is based on pictures... You cannot see the sideburns.

There's a little bit of friction on the hair, but it could still grade MS at NGC. PCGS also cares a LOT about full luster and you mentioned it was muted. Based on the images, I can see it comfortably in an AU58 PCGS holder.

Your coin looks like a TPGS commercial MS (they will agree with your grade) and worth MS money. Put it under florescent light in a dark room and you'll see the rub with your naked eye. That's probably why folks using the "old" definition of MS are grading your coin AU. So you see, everyone is CORRECT whether they guessed AU or MS. That's the state of our hobby/business today. :(

It's crazy that after the ANA grading standards were published, a bunch of dealers continued to ignore them and eventually convinced everyone that obviously AU coins were really Mint State! The first two TPGS's that resisted this move are no longer relevant. One went out of business (INSAB) and the other one is hanging on after being sold to several different owners.

PS Scratches don't take a coin out of MS-something!
