I still have many South African coins but sold most of my collection value wise about 10 years ago before the price crash. Mostly Union though and not ZAR.
I'd guess it still might be in the vicinity of $2,000. From the image, much better than most. I assume the coin must have required conservation. Otherwise, even as a circulation strike, doesn't seem like a candidate for a "junk bin".
