Save your money. That type of toning is not likely to generate a lot of interest. Essentially, it is just another common date MS63 Morgan.

(If someone on this board praises the coin and makes a good offer take the money and run.)

Does he want to generate interest? You know not everyone wants the sunnywood lookin Morgans many of them out of reach for the average collector.... And youd be surprised not to see many tape toners out there or matching coins these days..

Not a tape toner. A sticker toner! In the 60s everybody from casinos to dealers to random companies were putting advertising stickers on on silver dollars. Typically large square ones that covered the entire coin area but sometimes circle or diamond ones. Someone acetone the sticker off of this one probably because the toning that developed added a larger premium than the sticker did.

Sorry you had the misfortune to have 291fifth comment first! Guy needs a dark cloud avatar or something.
It’s a cool coin and I agree that it probably had a sticker on the reverse at some point.

Cool Coin, here is a couple of my tape/sticker toners.

Your first one is a stripe tab toner. There are circle tab toners and stripe ones. Your stripe one was caused by an album or board that had a cardboard strip at the back of the holes to prevent coins from popping through. The coin toned around the strip and under the strip it was protected. Its also the reason why the vast majority of them are reverse toners. The coin would have had to have been put in the hole backwards to be an obverse toner.

The second one, I'm not sure. Something caused it, maybe tape put on it in an odd way. As far as weird pattern toners go, it's a decent one. Kinda neat.

These are not the most desirable types of toners, but personally; I still like them a lot And think that they are cool. Great original coin. Congratulations on a nice pick up.

You would be surprised. They have a cult following similar to say PCI toners.

Hi. Thanks for commenting. I collect tape toners And am partial to blueberry surfaces. So luckily whether or not it generates any interest isn’t really a concern as it’s not for sale. Thanks for your insight. 😁

I wouldn't worry much about his unnecessary comments. He's been doing that a fair bit lately. I like your new purchase!

Why comment if you have nothing nice to say?
