Here is a beautiful Boston school medal struck by the diesinking duo of Wright & Bale, NY. Glossy and steel gray, it proudly depicts Ben Franklin on the obverse with the words “Gift of Franklin.” Boston’s most famous citizen left the city a large amount of money upon his death to continue to strike silver medals like this to deserving school boys . J. McIntire earned his in 1835
