am wondering WHY this rare double struck coin did NOT get a numerical grade???
BUNC it says... but what does that really mean?? No other hint of anything...

Maybe NGC doesn't provide numerical grades on errors..?

I am constantly baffled as to why members come on to CU and ask us about the workings of TPGS's. Are their customer service departments failing us? Perhaps, this question came up on a weekend.

AFAIK, NGC does not grade some errors. For example, they don't grade a waffle coin but other services do.
I don't know why the OP's coin was not graded. It may have to do with space on the label. A quick look on Ebay will probably give you an idea of errors they don't grade.

Call NGC on Tuesday and let us know what you find out.

BUnc is Brilliant Uncirculated so that probably there was not enough room on the label to add an MS grade.

There isn’t enough space on the label

MMmmm, space on the Label?? Its an explanation, but somehow that would be a very vague excuse.
However, I will call them as I really would like to know.
( there is always a smaller font to suit)
