Done with PWCC - Selling UNALTERED High-End Modern via eBay Auctions

DragnetDragnet Posts: 636 ✭✭✭

After spending the last few years consigning my cards with various auction/consignment houses (mostly PWCC), I've decided to start selling on my own, through my personal eBay account, nismocollection. This decision was made on account of the large volume of counterfeit/altered/trimmed cards being sold on those platforms, without any means to distinguish my own cards as being authentic/unaltered.

Every card sold through my account is 100% authentic and free of ANY alteration/trimming. The very large majority have been pulled from packs myself, with the remaining portion either bought from trusted online sellers or local shops. I've included applicable information regarding provenance for each and every listing.

Nearly all listings are graded via PSA or BGS and all will be put to 10-day auctions. You should find a good mix of Baseball and Basketball, with some Football, Hockey and Pokemon.

I know what you are talking about trimmed cards. I went through a night mare when I bought I nice 69 set and all the major stars were counterfeit. I am not going to put up with these type sellers who sell cards on eBay with no indication that the card does not contain on caption indicated that the card is a reprint.
I already got one seller kicked off eBay because of this practice however it was not Ebay that kicked them off. I called Topps and they checked this sellers listing and indeed it was a copy right infringement and they had them kicked off.
Sometimes there are shorter cards in a fresh pack depending on the quality control issues.
A good example of this is the 1975 Topps minis.many were short cut. I had a 58 Clemente YL
That I sent to PSA it came back with evidence of trimming however when put up with a regular Clemente issue and other 58s they were exactly the same size.GO FIGURE!!

I can't even imagine what you'd have to do to get kicked off eBay these days. It's like the Wild West. Absolutely anything goes. They just want their money.

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Bump -- been disappointed with the results on many of my listings so far, but that means good deals for all those interested.

For those looking for deals.. had a 1/1 Topps Rookie Progression Pete Alonso sell tonight for $62 and a Bowman Platinum Joey Bart Auto /10 sell for $44 last night. I think these will be the last of the auctions I run, getting results well below what I expected.. probably will shift to BO/BIN.
