Paypal dispute question

I recently cracked a vending case and sold the boxes. Some dude bought 5 and now wants his money back because he claims he thought I was selling wax boxes. I know he opened 1 of the boxes because he's now claiming they are searched because he pulled a common with a crease.
He is a reseller on Ebay and I guess he has buyer's remorse because he thought he was gonna triple his money with wax boxes.
He has started a dispute with paypal. I'm furious.
ANyone else had to deal with this nonsense? What was the final decision?

Was there a picture in the listing and did it mention vending?

I know that sometimes it is the principle of the matter, and right is right and wrong is wrong!

But sometimes it's also good to just take a step back and realize that $50 just isn't worth getting that stressed out over.

I suspect, without knowing any other details, that PayPal is going to go against you with the judgement. You should hope for the best, but prepare yourself for the worst.

If anything, when you get the cards back, just kick back some relaxing afternoon and collate a set or 2 and just enjoy getting your hands in some cards. Make lemonade from your lemons.

    Good luck!

    What lesson is that?

    Don't sell on Facebook.

$325 for 5 vending boxes? No wonder he thought they were wax boxes. I've bought 3 1986 vending CASES on eBay in the last 12 months for roughly $200 each, delivered.

The lesson here for everyone else is "Don't buy on Facebook".

Did I miss what product this was? I didn't see where these were listed as 86T.

1984 vending boxes from a sealed case. $60 each plus shipping

This might help: It may or may not be applicable to your specific transaction. You should always look in the "transaction details" section. If a transaction is eligible for Seller Protection, it will be marked as eligible or partially eligible on the Transaction Details page. If it is marked as partially eligible, you are only protected for items a buyer didn’t receive.

Case Update: The buyer must ship back your item within 10 calendar days

They must ship the item(s) back to you within 10 calendar days. ****The buyer must send the item back in the condition in which they received it and provide a tracking number. Please use the Resolution Center to let us know when you receive the item(s). We will not issue a refund until we confirm the item(s) have been returned. Be sure to have adequate funds in your PayPal account to cover the refund amount. **If you receive the item in a condition different from what you originally sent it, you’ll have the option to appeal the case after it’s closed.

If you sent them unopened, he must return them unopened. However as 1984 Topps Vending boxes were never sealed. But he did say that he opened one of the boxes. Maybe you take the hit on 4 of the 5 boxes.

I have never sold on Facebook, and I'm not gonna be harsh like some of the others, but I personally wouldn't.

I have no idea where I got 86T vending from in regards to my reply. I could have sworn we were discussing 86T vending, which is why I responded the way that I did. I don't drink, so it's not that...

    I apologize to the OP.

I personally still would avoid buying or selling on Facebook, but others seem to do ok, so I don't know.

  • I appreciate the comments. I buy and sell on a certain group page and have never had a problem. It's when I strayed from that page..
