    Yes.

Wait a minute, I thought they didn't use cents in Canada anymore.

I have received maybe two Canadian one cent pieces in change here in flyover country USA so far in 2019 - the last one was about a week ago and IIRC, it was a 1968. This is about 8 hours by automobile from nearest Canadian point of entry.

I live in Australia. I almost never see Canadian coins in circulation. ;)

New Zealand coins, on the other hand... :/

correct, we do not use CAN 1 cents any longer. However, they are still legal currency. AND, there are millions of them mixed in with US cents all over the world.
BTW, these cents are worth more in copper bullion....

While I don't really get change any more these days. Years ago, especially when I used to roll hunt. I used to find Canadian Pennies all the time here in Ga.

Edit to add: Maybe they migrated up here from Florida due to the many snowbirds?

I live near the border and it's at least a year since I received a CA cent in change. We stopped taking the other coins in the mid-80s. I

I know someone from NC who calls northerners who have settled there "halfbacks" - people who moved from northern states to Florida, decided they did not like it there, and then moved halfway back, to places like NC.
