A question about the "Standard Catalog of United States Tokens 1700-1900" by Russell Rulau.

I don't currently have a copy of the Standard Catalogue by Rulau so I wondered if there is a link online where I can view/search this book?? Absent that, can someone here who has a copy look something up for me to see if a medal has a cross-reference from an Eglit number?? Actually, three listings: Eglit 105, Eglit 106 and Eglit 107.

I have found a link that shows Eglit 106 as Rulau B-8 if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Eglit 105-106-107 are all medallic issues that do not fit the criteria and would not be found in the Rulau 1700 - 1900 Token catalog.

They are most probably listed and cross-referenced in Rulau's "Discovering America - The Coin Collecting Connection" published in its first (and only) edition in 1989. Few people use the Rulau #'s from that disjointed work in place of the Eglit #'s. (My copy is packed away for the moment).

my reason for asking is that I thought that PCGS encapsulated medals by Eglit #'s listed in "Columbiana" but I don't see that publication listed at the Token and Medals page.

Did a quick check of Rulau 1700-1900 and couldn't find anything helpful

it's probably a number out of "Discovering America" as tokenpro stated. bummer to me.

I guessed at what storage box might contain Discovering America & got it right first try, unusual in itself:

Eglit-106 = Rulau B10 -- the Stefano Johnson medal in white metal, 102mm, joined shells version.

Eglit-107 = Rulau B8 -- the Stefano Johnson medal in white metal in the 60mm size. Eglit-107 also applies to the bronze and oxidized white metal strikes; Rulau mentions these metal varieties in a footnote but does not give them a Rulau #.

Eglit-107A = Rulau mentioned but not #'d -- the Stefano Johnson struck in aluminum in a 58mm size.

Eglit-105 = Rulau mentioned & pictured but not #'d -- the modified Stefano Johnson obverse with "Memento Of The World's Fair, Chicago 1893" around the obverse bust of Columbus // Same Reverse, struck in bronze & white metal in a 59mm size.

Eglit- n/l = Rulau B9 -- the Stefano Johnson medal in a 133mm size in white metal as reported by Hartzog (I haven't seen this size)
