PCGS Registry Awards ends on a weekend – what if the registry breaks again?

There have been a few threads discussing the pros and cons of waiting until the last minute to upgrade coins on June 30, a Sunday. With no weekend PCGS customer support this last minute strategy would appear risky. If I was thinking about this strategy (I’m not) I would be concerned. Will all the upgrades be made on Friday, June 28?

Personally, I think the additions should be made during the week. Although it would certainly behoove PCGS to have someone on staff available for the weekly breakdown since it is a special event and it would prove to be a bit embarassing. But then again, that would also indicate that it wouldn't go down this frequently to begin with.

Since my set has no chance of achieving any award... I think I'll just add it whenever it comes back again. :-)

well the registry has been down all weekend..I havent been able to update at all......I would think PCGS would have a tech on call over next weekend.but Im betting they will not....dont see a reason to wait until the last minute to post a set anyway..either you dont have a top set or you do..waiting to post it will not make a difference.....mine arent in that category...close on the modern washingtons...but not in any other category...just proud of my collection...as it is....this is suppose to be fun..not a competition!...yeah..right....!!!!

Boy, Are you people grumpy this morning. Have a nice cup of coffee, read the paper and have a nice english muffin. You know, the one with all of the neat nooks and crannies for the melted butter to run in. All will soon be fixed and the world as we know it , will once again rotate around a bright and warming sun. Never fear. I have tech support on call so unless there is an earthquake in Southern California next weekend, the awards will go on as scheduled!

IMHO, I would think that if you waited until the last minute to list your set, that you are gambling, with the same type of risk as placing a last second bid ( snipe ) on a auction. I am sure that some of the snipers have waited just a second to long to place the bid. That is a chance that you take. Yes, the upgrade COULD, go down, this weekend, or even today. But if you have the top set, or close to it, why not go a head and list it now ? Who ever is going to list their sets, will list them anyway, unless they don't make the top 5 sets. In that case, they are the ones missing out.

Let's face it, your sets are either going to cut the mustard, or they won't ! But I guess all is fair in Love, War, and how and when you register your sets.
