1858 PROOF (J-225, P-269, R-8) PAQUET GILT LIBERTY DOLLAR. CERTIFIED by ANACS as PR-AU50 Details-Polished. ANTHONY PAQUET'S dies after the circulating Longacre Type III gold dollar but with the tall letters that are so distinctive of Paquet's work. EXTREMELY RARE UNIQUE PROOF PAQUET (R-8) ONLY 1 IN EXISTENCE. Provenance: From the Samuel J. Berngard Collection.
This UNIQUE PROOF was struck in Gilt and has a nice "YELLOW GOLD" PATINA.
