  • Owen Hart autos were going for hundreds after he fell from the rafters at the PPV and passed away. People will do whatever they can to make a money.

no, I would not pull it, because if I was selling it for any reason, well, my reasons would not change even if Joey died...maybe someone that is in it for the money would win it, but maybe someone that really truly wanted this item would win it....
  • I WOULDNT START THE AUCTION AFTER HE DIED, BUT IF I STARTED IT 5 DAYS EARLIER, THEN I WOULD JUST LEAVE IT GOING...
  • Look this is ridiculous. If the auction started before he died, whats wrong with that? NOTHING. If I am selling an limited edition Eminem CD, and he gets shot, should no one ever sell his CD again just because he died? NO.

I personally think its wrong to keep the auction up. It's wrong to want that kinda money for the card. The card is what? a dollar....thats what the owner should recieve at the most. I agree with sodomojo, it is pretty sad to see people making money of a trajec event like what happened yesterday. It does bring a sickness to my stomach.

THANK YOU yanyak5!!!!!!!!!!! i was beginning to think all of these ppl were all a bunch of GREEDY SOB's and i don't blame the buyers for this because you might want to pick up a few cards to remember the guy by it's when people start selling that i think it is wrong.........................

  • The card is no longer worth $1. The card is worth $137 or whatever someone will pay for it.
The card worth $1 three days ago. The card will never be worth that again.
    hi
  • I agree, this auction started 6 days ago. Its not his fault that he had it listed when the guy died. he wasnt trying to capitalize on his death. If he doesnt want to pull it I really dont care. What I hate is people listing it just to profit from the guys death. BTW: how can someone be insane enough to pay $137 for that card? I mean I understand that the stuff goes up in price, but $137? You gotta be sh!ttin me

and thats what makes me sick to my stomach.......the only reason the card went up in value was because he died....it just doesnt make sense to me........

  • Why should someone stop selling something just because someone died???
If everytime an actor died, or a musician, they stopped selling all the movies or CD's, how stupid would that be?
There is no way in hell someone should be called greedy for running a business and not "pulling the items off the shelf" as soon as something bad happens.

You blame the sellers and not the buyers? The only reason the sellers are here is because of the buyers. You think its bad for the price to be $137? I'm sure it started at $1. The seller didnt make someone pay that much for the card.

  • i agree w/ EVERYONE... its wrong to keep it going like even like a week after his death to let everyone recouperate but I also agree that if someone dies you don't just stop selling their products. Its respectful to quit selling for a short period but then again its respectful to collect his cards & with that someone needs to sell at least a few cards...

take Derrick Thomas (LB; KC Chiefs) for example. i'm a huge football fan...i notice vurtually EVERYTHING that goes on in the NFL. when i heard on January 27, 2000 that DT got in a accident i emidiatly started collecting his cards... i went through ALL my cards & rounded up all his cards i had. then on Febuary 8, 2000 when i found out he died because of accessecive bleeding i felt sorry for him. by now everyone was keeping his cards. Now, in June/July i've been lucky to find 200+ cards.i'm currently still trying to get ALL of his cards. so thats another type of resepect in wich i felt sorry for him & his family so in tribute i collected his cards & the other people had to give the cards up OUT OF RESPECT.........

    so either way is respect.

    - Kevin
  • Anyone who lists within hours of someone's reported death is not a true collector, but rather, a horrible person.

All of the sellers who had Kile's cards and other items up before his death should without question leave their items up. That way, true fans of Kile's could know that what they were bidding on was authentic, and not the work of a shady or fraudulent seller just looking to capitalize.

To be honest, I don't think it really matters. There's no disrespect by selling something of a player a day or 10 years after his death. I don't believe there is a mourning period for something like this at all. No one was yelling that kind of thing when Mantle died and people went on selling his cards. So because a card of a less collectible player goes up in demand because of his death, that's disrespect? C'mon Jamie. Nobody knows the true reason they bought the card anyways. And when Earnhardt died for instance, some people decided they didn't want to collect him anymore. Shouldn't they be able to sell it when they want? Why does it really matter? It's not like they're selling photo's of the guys funeral or anything. And there heading didn't say anything classless like get the dead guys cards while he's still hot.
