What Would You Rip

Home alone for a few nights so planning to rip tonight with a glass of Bourbon. Would appreciate a few votes and will post pictures. I reserve the right to not follow the highest vote getter.
74 Topps BB pack. Ungraded. Found in local card store. Tim took a peak and we believe it’s good. Now worth grading given condition of pack. Prob a 6-7.
78 OPC box. Have ripped one before and they are fun. I do have a lot of these cards already and unless you get 10s of the HOFers not a great return after grading fees.
75 Cello pack have a PSA 8 and 9.
77 Cello pack. Never ripped one of these.
83 Topps vending box. Have never opened vending before.
Thx for being part of the fun.

75 Cello would be fun!
If it were my stash I’d open the 74 pack and the 83 vending box...best of luck with whatever you choose...looking forward to seeing the results!
I can't wait to see what ever you decide. 78 is my favorite, but I'd go with the ungradable packs.
I vote for all
83 vending box. Easily replaced and gives you more time to enjoy the bourbon.
75 cello, both packs if you hit no HOF in the PSA 8.
Keep knocking off the bucket list and rip the items you haven’t ripped before. 77 Cello and 83 Vending...then maybe the 74 just because. Good Luck!
I wouldn’t mind seeing 83 Topps vending. It feels like 75 Topps is the common one amongst the board. Whichever you choose, I hope you score big! Get those card savers ready.
Depends how fast you drink?
Lots of 75 cellos still available due the the Fritsch inventory, so that is the way I’d go since it is the most easy to replace.
Dave
OK - decided based on numbers also.
83T vending - lots of stars. If you get a nicely centered lot? Loads of enjoyment - "drink slowwwwwwly."
Most importantly, live stream it if you can or at least post the results here.
When we broke a case of the 78 OPC like 10 years ago, the guys who ripped their boxes looked like they were a lot of fun. Lots of stars showing on packs and general star power. I would vote for that!
Thanks guys. Lots of opinions!!.
I am leaning towards opening what’s in the picture. The 74, 77, 79 rack and the 83 T vending FASC, the FASC makes it little cool so make substitute for a few 83 T racks - depends how the Bourbon goes down.
I am back from an airport run around 8pm ET and will post pic as I go. Should be fun.
Steve
I would love to see you pull a centered Brett rookie!!
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Preparations are underway. Going slow with the 1st drink Mike!
The 76 is not being opened but a recent pick up. It’s going to Steve tomorrow for wrapping.
Up 1st is the 74.
1st shocker. It is a 76 pack. Same wrappers were used I believe so interesting.....
Nothing really great. Slick was great to see - met him once at his East Bay restaurant, nice guy. RIP Willie. Most of the cards have surface wrinkles but still fun to see.
Few sips and back shortly.
Up next the 79 rack...I
have opened bunch of these over the years and believe I am batting under .100 for anything worthwhile. Last strip landed a decent, albeit non gradable Parker. Lots of yellow and not enough color of Oz.
The limited success so far and my decision to go ahead and rip the 83 FASC has required upgrading to the Barrel Strength......
I must say....83 T or anything earlier...virgin vending is still a sight to behold. Now, 71 T 1st series would be an entirely different sensation.......back in 15-20. My son and Red Sox game calls.
20% through
...
40%...hit a Wade, sans Margo. If born pre-1975 please google. Boggs is probably a 7....:more forthcoming.....
Gents need to finish tomorrow. Sons need my attention!
You talking about the one in Walnut Creek? That place was really cool. I was disappointed to hear it closed down.
Son > cards, we all understand.
You're getting some pretty good centering Steve.
I know corners will be another issue.
I saw this on eBay - your rip made me think of it...
Few pictures from the last half of the vending box. No Ryno but a few nice hits. The Gaetti made me laugh as it was an early chase card in 83.
Lamejoon - yes, McCovey’s in Walnut Creek. I loved short drive away fun place.
Thanks for following along. Another reminder of the positive memory lane experience of ripping ...bit a financial negative P&L! 😀
Nice choice of Bourbon... I'm more of a Basil Hayden's and Angel's Envy guy. Thanks for the share!
Good post. Hobby should be fun and love the bourbon references. About bourbon: Bulleit is Jim Beam. Basil Hayden is Four Roses. Both distillers have stepped up their game in recent years. My boys in Lexington suggest Woodford Reserve for the value and Pappy Van Winkle if you want to blow cash.
