$50,400. Lowest price for a 6 since 2014 apparently.

With as much emphasis as the hobby puts on centering it doesn't surprise me that this example went lower than perhaps expected.
Yeah, def expected it to go higher than that. Thanks for the quick response and Fly Eagles Fly!
Not a rookie card.
That card's colors look somewhat faded/washed out. Wouldn't surprise me if it's been soaked.
*Topps rookie card
I can never bring myself to pay 50K for something that looks like that. This 6 should be OC. All it does it brings the value of other 6’s down. That’s one ugly 6.
Looks like seller tried prior with Heritage but due to low bidding, it had a reserve and it didn't sell.

They actually called this his rookie card?

They sure did Don - his FTC is "now" his RC.
I was just checking the prices attained on 6's and 20+K xtra will get ya this kind of centering.
There is a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 8 on Ebay right now, and it's up to $410,300 with about 10 hrs to go in the auction.
Or much more.
Eye appeal + grade is now king. Look at the PSA 3 in Heritage. Its already at 35k with a week to go. The PSA 2.5 in Memory lane...23k
OC and a Tilt to boot? That card is horrific looking in my opinion
The 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 8 has 1,663 watchers according to watchcount. There's a little over 2 hrs to go in the auction. I have to see what it's going to top out at.
$489k -new eBay record for a 52 Mantle by $5k iirc.

$489,300 + don’t forget $8 shipping. 142 bids by 43 bidders.
Won my mosure’s new shill account apparently. A person with 0 feedback won it.

Was that an OK price or too cheap?
I saw that. It could be someone who wants to be anonymous but looking at the big picture it just screams raised eyebrows 🙄
PWCC had to pre-approve bidders for the 1952T PSA 8 Mantle. I wonder if the FBI will be asking for that pre-approval list...
Seemed pretty good to me. Nice card and the last one that went for $484k was strong as well. Of course that can’t be the case because we have all been told that the card market is crashing and to sell everything off - especially unopened items 😂

$8 shipping... LOL
If I spend $489k on a card, I'm flying out to pick it up in-person.
Also, what's with the PWCC sticker on the back of the slab? Please don't do that to my expensive card...
This is a dumb question, but how easily removable are PWCC stickers? Do they leave a residue?
How dare you even think about removing a sticker that states “above average”. That is the highest compliment a card could ever receive.

That PSA 8 is a beauty. That's for sure. I saw it in hand at this years National. Sharp card. If you saw it in an 8.5 holder, it wouldn't look out of place. Card prices are strong. This is why I laugh when folks say the bubble is going to bust. Yes - prices rise and they come back down but they always end up above the original price.
After this whole trimming controversy, the first thing I do when looking at high grade vintage is to see how much extra space there is inside the holder for the cards to swim around in. It really stinks. Some of them look really small.
