Appreciated thanks so much Hemispherical. What about new discoveries do they do them also We have a super error 2018 D doubled die ear and chin . Well I held back the Nuclear Bomb 2018 D the best one like any good poker player doe's to see how the game play's out kinda like the old ace in the hole and your all gonna have to wait for the attribution on this one. all I can say is its got character better than the last I sent in. The ace in the hole is better than mid and late sixties and early seventies totally amazing thanks again.and 2500 of them. Its very easy to find these the first ones I found amounted to 45 of them then I got side tracked because a friend had some personal issues and I took a break to help her out and wound up mixing up the piles and put them through coin star oopps 2400 +OF em Duh. Then I found two boxes 5000 of the ones I sent through coin star open enders on the rolls doubled die ear and chin 2018 D with the same teller numbers on the boxes and date and one box of the nuclear bomb this one. Is 2018 D crazy obverse doubling this ones is the bomb it puts the first to shame .has a diffrent teller number and date just saying on the boxes you just have to have the right teller number and date and there is two diffrent Numbers and dates. I have been known save the best for last I played a good hand and i have been blessed by the coin gods thanks again I really do enjoy this site and the poeple again you guys rock. Later on this week I will post some pics of a beautiful 1944 s hugging a magnet like it was his first date this one is going to pcgs just hope its not a fake. I've been on fire this year hands down and getting ready to start going at it full throtle again thanks again for your reply
It appears that it needs to be listed in the Cherry Pickers Guide to have a chance at being recognized by PCGS. There are so many minor varieties, that it doesn't make sense to do attribute all of them.
I couldn't find any references to this "super discovery" except on the chat forums. Has it been published in the hobby periodicals or by Coneca ? There is nothing on Wexler's site nor the usual places like variety vista.
I DON'T SPEAK FOR PCGS, NGC, ANACS, or SEGS!
We should be very happy that the two top TPGS finally started to do MOST of the varieties that we collect.
From the linked list, it appears PCGS does not use Breen numbers for anything and they don't attribute any Seated Quartes that are not in the Stanton book. The omission of Briggs #'s for Seated quarters may have been a decision by the old PCGS administrators for the obvious reason.
In the past, on several occasions, the top TPGS's have not slabbed a newly discovered variety. They wanted to wait until a second example was discovered. You can take your chances with your "new discovery" but it should be clear from the link that it will NOT matter because it is not in a published reference.
Perhaps if you get your coin slabbed by one of the other services first, PCGS may make an exception and cross the coin into their slab. It will help if you get your coin examined by a specialist of that type so you can include their comments when you send in the second tier TPGS slab to PCGS.
IMHO, this is all unnecessary as a "new variety" shouts out "I'm authentic and unique at the moment" but I don't make the rules for what gets slabbed at other TPGS's.
PS Save yourself some money and post an image of your "treasure." I promise that less than 5% of us here will be interested in looking for another one.
PS Thanks for relating your experience.
