Non-Payer

Haven't had one in a while but have one now(not a card). So non-payers can win an auction and not pay without any consequences, correct. I have a case open and fixing to close it to recover fees. Thanks!

Correct....basically. Had one recently with lots of excuses and I finally opened a case and got my fees back. Relisted the card and got more for it so it worked out great. The buyer just gets some kind of "mark" on their records but I don't think it means anything.

Just had 2 recently. Opened cases against both. One paid on the final day of the resolution and the other didn't. I blocked the non payer and relisted the item. The late payer I did not block but I didn't leave positive feedback.

I think everyone is allowed 1 or 2 non paying cases before they get consequences? I had a buyer win one of my auctions and never paid, never answered any messages, after a few weeks I contacted Ebay and got fees taken care of ect and I thought I remember reading that after 1 or 2 times a non payer can get negative feedback? I can’t quite remember

I can close the case tonight and at least get the fees back. When this happens to you do you attempt to make a second chance offer to the next highest bidder or just relist it?

I relisted it and ended up losing about $10 on the sale, it was a $300 item so all good.

A couple of random thoughts....non payers should get an automatic negative except for rare instances>

Also, on the question regarding second chance offers, I very seldom even consider accepting one because it offers at the price based on the step under the winning bid, whereas it should completely disregard the winning bid. Example is I set a max bid of $55 and the underbidder to me has a max bid of $40, at the last minute a late bidder bids $56 and wins the auction. The second chance offer would be for my $55 where it should be $41, the step above. This is a tactic used by many shill bidders and why I generally ignore it.

I would relist it and go from there.

IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I relisted and made $10 more.
