At first I was going to guess a low grade because of the clipped corners, but according to PSA standards if the border is completely visible, which in this case I think is where the white ends and the black border begins, I am going to guess PSA 9
Surface issues , minor scratching, faded print in the name , minor chipping on the borders = I'll guess 6
Also inconsistencies in the cut as well =that may have even been slabbed "Authentic" only if you had requested otherwise that would get the dreaded EOT
I had a snipe set, but thought this was a particularly ugly example personally, so came up far short. While the front card stock was a glistening white that is rare to see on these with a gorgeous image, that cut is awful. The uneven borders and clipped corners vs square cut or rounded doesn't do it for me. I was factoring in cost to have the cut cleaned up, resubbing, and praying it ended back up in a 9 or better holder again. For a buck more, this example that sold a couple month back is far superior IMHO: https://www.psacard.com/auctionprices/multi-sport-cards/1952-wheaties/sam-snead/auction/2482262
Personally, I like rounded corners on these and will have to settle for my self subbed 7 for now, even with the discolored stock.
So does the cut have anything to do with the grade? I've looked at lots of these in PSA holders with all kinds of cuts. I can't tell. Someone please help me understand.

The only thing I've figured out is that I grade them harder than PSA. I've had pre-grades of 2-4 end up in 7 holders (including the Snead above that I thought was a 6ST). Much like most perforated cards, I just throw a dart to guess what grade they'll come back now.
On hand cuts a full border must be present. While its present on that top 9 the variance in thickness and cut is eye appeal distracting. This alone can knock a card down . Add in the issues with the print issues in the name and surface scratching-- at a loss as to how that top example ended up in a 9 holder.
The 2nd PSA 9 is absolutely gorgeous. Glad you avoided overbidding on the top example- good to hear you were after the card and not the holder

I'm guessing the scratches are on the case and not the card, but agree 100% on the other issues noted. I'm just sad I missed out on the square cut when it was up for auction, but I still might've been tempted to crack that one and round the corners
I'm honestly just happy with number grades on this set, so many of the cards I've seen have been butchered inside the borders. I don't even mind a crease when they can be cleaned up to present nicely, as long as it's not apparent through the image/text like this next project card (crease across the top right corner, the one at the bottom can be shaved off completely) ...

For hand-cut cards But I'm not familiar with this set, so I am only assuming it is a hand-cut card
Yes, it is a hand cut.
That's one hell of a good looking card Kyle.
Have no experience with this.

That card looks nice enough to eat off of. I'm going gem mint 10.
Card is gorgeous. I’m going with a 9

10 because there is only 1 on the pop report. Otherwise my second guess is a 7. Beautiful card whatever the grade!
7 with outside shot at an 8
I have cut maybe a hundred wheaties cards. PSA is killer on the “rounded corners” plus the wavy right edge. I’d say PSA 4/5

Pretty interesting to see the range in guesses on this one, everything from Auth to 10 except 1-3. The first guess was correct: https://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-1952-WHEATIES-CEREAL-BOX-CARD-SAM-SNEAD-GOLF-PORTRAIT-PSA-9-MINT-/333281244213

The 9 with the square corners looks nice:
^ went for a dollar more than the OP 9 back in April...oops didn't realize you had posted that info already
Yeah, I was using that as the basis for my bid and adjusted down well over a buck based on the eye appeal of this example.

Hi Jeff,
I believed this, too, but when I saw this...
...I started to believe that "must" is not the case.
