1860 Smith and Hartmann Token Miller NY-818, Brass uncirculated SOLD
For your consideration is this beautiful merchant card that just pre-dates the American Civil War. The depiction of the Indian on the obverse is a mainstay with token and medal collectors, as it is so well executed it appears to have been struck by the US Mint, itself.
From the die sinking firm of Smith & Hartmann, a long line of medalists that started in NYC with Richard Trested, through Bale & Wright, and finally F.B. Smith during the War of Rebellion.
An attractive, uncertified example on a thick brass planchet. Ch. Unc
