Small world and great chatting with you in the PSA line today. Since we had an hour wait at 9:30 am in the line we got to talk quite a bit about cards...

Love the 61's. Are you getting the raw ones graded or do you have a raw set you are updating? Either way they are beauties.

Yeah, I tried to look around for you again but you were not to be found. I did run into James again later on. Nice guy to talk to as well.

Yes, I was just talking about you! Wasn't sure if you had made your move to the mainland or not yet. Maybe meet up in a couple years if you do. The wife is pressing to take our girls to Hawaii so maybe sooner. I think going to the Nationals would be a cheaper and more fruitful trip, lol. I didn't get anything great or high end but I got deals and since I could not find the main things I was looking for, this stuff had to do. I came back with way more cash that I intended....or wanted to, for that matter.

I don't plan to grade them and haven't decided on the ones I've picked up slabbed if I want to crack them or not....probably just leave them. I just want to do a nm or better raw set that is centered. I picked some more up today before I headed back home. Some of them are upgrades and some are filling holes. I'm still a long way off but was happy with what I was able to accomplish the last couple days. Since it wasn't my main focus of going, I kind of got a late start looking for them. Either way, it's going to be a labor of love and I'm not really in a rush to complete it.

This will soon be in a PSA 5 holder due to a back crease.........

Maybe it's your terminology, but a "crease" doesn't make it to a PSA 5. If what you really mean is wrinkle, then yes.

No matter the grade, it has super strong eye appeal. Very nice pick up.

Well I would think a crease is worse then a wrinkle. Both are bad for sure but a crease happens when the actual cardboard is bent to the point of making a crease. No bueno. A wrinkle is generally a manufacturing defect and mostly tougher to see unless under a good light at the right angle. Bad none-the-less.

    I'm at Starbucks.

When I get back, I want to check a couple of 66T Mantles I have - one is a 6 and I believe there's a tiny "production" wrinkle on the back.

So, that 64T Mantle - due to super good obverse characteristics - may just get a 6?

I would call this a wrinkle as opposed to a handling crease:

    It's on this card:

Thanks. I do not care what it grades, but I believe the back will make it a 4-5. I am now the proud owner of this as my PC consists of low grade cards that have strong eye appeal for the grade.

I really like the card - I've purchased quite a few Mantles are bargain prices since they were either OC e.g.

Have ya got a scan of the back?

    Thanx.

Will look great in a PSA holder if you decide to submit.

Oh yes, I will be submitting it. I tend to love cards that shock you initially with "how did this grade a 1-5?" I will try to remember to share it with you once it comes back in a few months.

Reminds me of the PSA 5 53T Mantle that Keith/KendallCat showed that looked way, way better.

    Always nice to see.

    I've got one like that:

Was looking for a 9-10. Missed the slightest little "production scratch" on the back.

Great pickup on the 64 Mantle - $90 is a steal. Mike - you can send that ‘66 Mantle to me and I will check it out for you 😉
