A co-worker gave this coin to me when I retired. He said it was authentic. I did some research on it and what I found is included in the photo caption if it is genuine. Any opinion?

Yes, it's real. Worth about $50 or so.

Common coin, but that's a pretty nice example with quite a bit of the original silvering left.
