Offers on COMC

I have entered multiple fair offers (after the offer expires I enter a higher offer) on a card with one seller (James823). They have yet to respond to any of the offers.. not even a counter. I would like to ship what I have already purchased from other sellers, but I am waiting on this unresponsive one. There is a limit to how low of an offer they will accept, so I’m obviously within that range (verified by a 2 cent offer).

All of my other offers to other sellers have had some negotiation or an instant accept.

Not being able to contact the seller is a bit more of a challenge for the buyer. I tried contacting COMC, but they didn’t reply either.

Is my experience similar to what you have experienced on COMC with offers, some not responding?

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I am not the only one.. I will cancel my offer and move on.

Some cards have been on there for years, and some sellers haven't added anything in years. If the item number is relatively low compared to newer listings and the seller isn't active, I wouldn't expect a response.

But sometimes the active sellers just don't respond.

FWIW, many of the members post grading results on blowout. I generally steer clear of their raw card listings. COMC often misses a lot of damage.

Just checked, the item number is a very low number compared to others... This seller must be inactive.

I buy from COMC on Ebay a lot, I can tell you that everytime I send them an Ebay message, I can never get an actual person to respond to my message. They just send an automatic response telling me to visit their website if I want to look for a particular card. I guess they have so much business that they don't have time to communicate with me.

I usually find the card via COMC on ebay and then go to the COMC website to see it listed cheaper and you can typically place an offer too. Works alright if the seller responds.

For instance a card is $33 on eBay same card on COMC directly is $25 (plus $4 shipping). They are accepting offers down to $13. Some may be auto accepted some need seller intervention.

@NGS428 is right. Please don't waste your money buying from COMC's eBay account. If you find the card listed on eBay and COMC is the seller, then just proceed to the COMC website and buy the card from there (or better yet make an offer) and save yourself a minimum of 20%. Your wife will thank you.

This is interesting. I don't buy a lot from COMC because I agree that the cards tend to be overpriced in comparison to eBay. However, despite COMC's poor scan images, I would say I have had much better luck buying raw cards to grade from COMC vs. eBay. In my last renewal sub, I sent in four 2013 Update Yelich RC's all bought from COMC, and they all came back 10.

Speaking of my wife, we had dinner last night with her mother. Needless to say, my Joe Louis card fund has taken a hit. She wanted Red Lobster , because it's close to our home. My suggestion of Taco Bell didn't sit too well with her. I could have gotten off a lot cheaper with Taco Bell. Oh well, I gave it a shot. Thanks everyone for the COMC tip. I will definately start using their website from here on. BTW: There's nothing wrong with a good Taco.

Bottom line if I submit an offer and I get no response within the time frame of it expiring then I move on, I will not attempt any more contact. For anyone to suggest that they might be away that’s fine except that it takes minimal effort to post that “Seller is away” tag on the auction page. I understand with certain cards that are difficult to find there might be more leeway with this but for the most part there are way to many other sellers out there to deal with poor communication.

Nice work on the Yelich cards! Being a Brewers fan, those would be an awesome card to have!

The COMC go to the website trick is the same for 4SC. Go to their website too and take advantage of their sales each week. But lately good luck finding it with their messed up search results.
