What should I do??

Notice the smudge on the SN#?? Had the card since 2000 and it wasn't like this when I bought it. Would upper deck do anything about it? Advice Needed

That's funny. But seriously this was the first 1/1 card I got my hands on and the smudge bothers me. I am afraid to do anything to it myself. I was just wondering if there was a smart way to clean it up

I'm guessing they printed black ink over gold leaf and this is what you get after several years. It looks like the ink has started to break down and 'bleed'. There probably isn't an easy fix for this without doing something that would be considered 'alteration' or 'conservation.'

Thanks Kris, These have been my thoughts exactly. But I have never asked anyone about it so I thought I might consult the experts

I think you need to leave it alone.

I wouldn't worry too much. Since you have the only one in existence, that card is now extinct. That's pretty cool.
