Why not try it? Run it like a bid board with the thread being the board. Provide good pics. Give an end time and impose a 10 minute rule in case there are multiple bids at the last minute. If there is a reserve, indicate such. I can't imagine why there would be any objections but if anyone doesn't like it, they don't need to participate. Just a thought.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Good ideas Perry, but the idea was to have a passive sale maybe a soft ending on a Tuesday at about dinner time. Can see where this may agitate bidders and I always prefer to step away from conflict, rather than engage it.

I have done thousands of 99 cent auctions on eBay.
I would NEVER consider doing a 99 cent auction on a very small platform when I can use the Giant ebay instead.
Makes ZERO sense for sellers.
With all the fees involved on eBay, some coins benefit from the FREE BST Forum. Also with a reserve you don't have to worry about giving your coin away.

For most of us, coins are a hobby and not a waste of time. I can understand that error coins are quite esoteric and eBay is a better venue but many coins with a broad interest can be sold quite successfully on the BST Forum.

I appreciate that members on this forum are willing to take the time and energy to sell on the BST knowing that it might be easier just to source it out to a dealer (particularly bullion). Or local outlet.
The person to ask would be Heather.
If she says no, all the angst and effort will evaporate.

This will never work
That is what Clara Ford said to Henry right before the divorce.
3 sets of eyeballs.
Why wouldn't it work?

The best part of this thread is that I never mentioned Ebay and EOC is still tied up in a knot.
I'll give it a try here in a couple weeks. Let things cool off a bit first.

99 cent auction with a reserve is NOT a 99 auction, geez ....
Have fun guys with this lame idea .....
One has NOTHING TO LOSE by trying here first.
Time and effort.
Time is the most valuable commodity on earth.
