What are some good places besides ebay to purchase cards..

I use 4SC and COMC currently. Anyone know of any other reliable places? Thanks.

How does it work? Raw cards?

    Yes, raw cards.

  • Beckett Marketplace is ok, but most if not all the people also sell on ebay(Burbank Cards, 2 Bros, etc..). Its mostly raw but some sellers have graded as well. Its similar to COMC except you have to buy directly from each seller, so you pay s&h for each seller. There are no selling fees, but the sellers can list the cards elsewhere to.

I found it before COMC, and in reality, I would have just used COMC if I had known about it. The two biggest downsides to BM is 1)many sellers don't have the actual photo of the card and 2)Its not uncommon to get "sorry, I sold that at a show last weekend and didn't take it down." I had a few sellers way over-grade their cards(calling everything nmt-mt), but it was low-dollar commons so I wasn't that devastated. If you are buying anything "of value" or are a real stickler for condition, I'd suggest getting the actual photo(obviously, most people would ask for such).

I actively collect Kirby Puckett. I have collections of Michael Jordan, Emmitt Smith, Roberto Clemente, Dwight Gooden, Tom Seaver, Errict Rhett and Evan Longoria.

    You can also try:
    1. Sportlots
    2. Scottsdale baseball cards
    3. Kronozio
    4. MJ Schaffer Sports Cards and Memorbilia

I'm not sure what type of cards you're looking for, but you can check them out.

I second Sportlots. Almost always for commons, but occasionally for cards with some modest value if there is a pic.

You can be as private as you want. You literally need to share nothing about yourself in your “profile.” Use your neighbor’s pic and a fake name. The privacy level is up to you.

I actually like comc for raw. I'm able to pick up quantities of specific cards and all have clear individual pics of front and back. I gave up years ago for Beckett marketplace. Don't know if it has changed but they never showed actual pics of said card. Always a stock photo and no description or condition. Always a huge gamble.

If you want a deal with a guy who’s had over thirty years experience in the hobby and will help you build your collection, there’s no better guy than Tom at opcbaseball.com

I for one have had a good experience in the Facebook groups both buying and selling. The only time personal information is exchanged (unless you are posting regularly) is when you sell or buy. Other than that, you can simply lurk away and watch the transactions go and learn a whole lot while you're at it.

Sorry, I mostly belong to vintage groups. There is one group I can add you to, made up of mostly NH and VT residents, if you wish. A lot of modern changes hands in that group. Just PM me your FB info and i’ll Invite you.

I've been buying small collections / factory sets, etc on Craigslist for 9 months or so and have done extremely well...the prices are so low that I know I will come out ahead if I ever choose to sell the cards I grade, plus it feeds my hunger for going thru collections looking for the PSA 10 candidates...
