Vice job?

I found two coins in my dad's collection that look like a double stamped coin, but there are signs of possible alterations. This first one is a 1946 dime. The back looks more authentic than the front. Are there legit coins that exhibit some characteristics of 'vice jobs'? is it likely a coin stuck on the die and reverse stamped the image to another?

It is a "vise job". Post mint damage. At least it's still worth silver melt value
All the signs of a vice job, and not possible at the mint as an error.
