Ebayer guarantees specific cards

Haven’t collected new stuff in 20 years. I see an ebayer guaranteeing specific players like Wander Franco and Vlad Guerrero in unopened packs he is selling. I mean he actually guarantees there is a Franco in the pack you are bidding on. Or he guarantees there is an auto in the pack you are bidding on. He has 100 percent positive feedback. How is this possible? Sellers name is markhd00

If he puts a question mark after the players name, then he means there might be an auto card of that player in the pack. It's basically saying, "is there an auto card of this player in the pack"? A lot of sellers are advertising their unopened packs that way with the new stuff. It's basically an advertising tool.

More than likely it goes along the lines of the "hot pack" scams. Resealed packs more often than not and they will have what is advertised, just the cheapest hit possible or player card possible to match what is being guaranteed. Nothing more than a scam.

The guy either has resealed packs or is able to search the packs without opening them. With a lot of issues, finding the "special" cards inside a pack isn't that hard once you know what to look for. I've done it with boxes of my own that I bought and was up to 90% accuracy very quickly.

99.9% they are resealed packs. That other 0.1% of the time they found a way to search the pack and it's the worst card of that player in the entire set (League Leaders, In Action, etc.). It's a scam and you should never buy one.

Yep I stayed away. Somebody paid $81 for a pack guaranteed to contain a Franco. That is an expensive base card.
