Check out this site for a writeup on medals by Joseph Davis.

Forrer produced a multi-volume Biography of Medallists that is available on the web.
Your Lichfield cathedral medal is listed as #2370 in Volume II of Laurence Brown's_ British Historical Medals_ and Oxford is #2372. Many more of his medals are pictured in Brown's work beginning with Volume I (including a York Cathedral medal by Davis produced in 1836-#1701). I'm not aware that Brown's volumes are available on the web however.

@rwyarmch Thanks for the info
You may come across these in copper as well. The only J. Davis piece I have is BHM # 2368 in Brown's reference, Ely Cathedral. It's actually not a medal at all but rather a pair of electrotypes joined at the edge and (originally) mounted under glass.
