Need Help Identifying: Babe Ruth 1930s Sweet Caporal Pin Back

Hey All - I submitted a pin to PSA and they're trying to send it back because they can't identify it. The front is a "Champions" front looking just like the the Quaker Oats issue, but the back is a Sweet Caporal back looking like the 1910-1912 P2 series. Unfortunately I didn't scan it before sending it in to provide pictures.

Has anyone come across anything like this before? I'd really like to not have it sent back ungraded for lack of info.

Thanks in advance!

I would really like to see the pin.

The problem is that the Sweet Caporal pins predate Ruth's career.

Did it look like this one?

The Sweet Caporal pins are the same size as the "champions" pin...

Just wondering if someone made a "fantasy piece" out of the 2 different pins?

Yes that’s what the front looks like but the back is sweet caporal. I guess someone could have taken a real sweet caporal pin and placed a ruth front on it. Seems like way too much effort for no value though.

I agree on the premise but switch it - IMO - way easier to remove the paper insert that's in the Sweet Caporal pin and glue it to the Quaker Ruth Champions pin.

Thanks. I'll get it back from PSA and give it a good look and post some pictures. I'm not a pin collector at all, so didn't know enough to suspect anything and just sent it in. Thanks for your contribution!
