Why is this board so quiet?

Did every one go on vacation at the same time or is everyone just pissed off at each other?

Bill: I haven't posted a coin of the day for a couple days. That may have a little to do with the "quiet" image Wondercoin.

Busy with work and a couple of projects at home. Plus, I haven't bought any additions to my sets in a few weeksimage , but I hope to change that in a week or two. image The pace of additions to Merc sets has slowed somewhat; guess I'm not the only one who's had other priorities and/or difficulty locating new material.

I haven't really picked anything up lately for my set. I've just been having coins graded, and selling them.

Discussing coins is ok, but the real fun, on these boards, comes in when emotions get involved, which is fine, even good.
Having said that, I personally, haven't found it fun to discuss registry coins with those who hate everyone above them in the registry. I have seen the sour grapes grow like vineyards, here in the last 15 months. I have to say that those who have found it fun to express their disgust with those with better coins, less coins, incomplete sets, one coin sets, overgraded coins, undergraded coins, ngc wanna be coins, etc., haven't allowed fairness, have been ever-so personal in nature, and are petty. This board is for complaining lately, or is boring, and it is not worth it to put up a contrary opinion if responding posts/arguements are full of swear words and personal attacks. Losing the experienced on this board is but "winning a battle, while losing your war." Have fun. image

The flavor of this board changes with the seasons. Also , new names are becoming regulars on the Board. This change of personalities will change things and make them more interesting. AS a bear, I ignore the worst, enjoy the best , speak in tones of mellowness (with an occassional GROWL) and always find a nice warm spot to sleep at night. Bear

Well, for me, there doesn't seem to be the same kind of discussions as on the other forums. And when I asked one or two things it didn't seem to stir up responses. But these things usually go in phases so it will probably change after July 1 and all the awards are out. Meanwhile, I'm just waiting for the registry to work so I can add the 1903 MS-65 morgan I got today.

Another reason its so quiet , is that we have a very active Troll Patroll and it pays off in less abusive and offensive material on the Forum. Enjoy it while it lasts. Bear PS summertime means quiet.

Amen Bear, and happy anniversary. I've been busy reassesing the grading of my last four invoices. One of the most interesting coins is an original undipped 1964 PR Kennedy Half. I don't know what it's grade is because since I've owned it it's been a PCGS PR66 DCAM, and PCGS PR67 NoCam, and this last time bodybagged for altered surface. I think I'll try once more, just for fun. Hey, IMHO it's a 67 DCAM, or at least it is based on the other 20 I own. The most difficult thing to grasp is how a coin goes from Dcam to no cam. I think that must be the defense mechanism PCGS employees when they don't like a coin for the technical grade. Back to the topic of the thread, summer doldrums and a terrible stock market. I have also noticed that most recently prices seem to be trending down. Should be an interesting summer.

Don - Years ago I had a 1952 Wash Quarter that was a NGC PR-67 Cameo. On a number of gradings by PCGS it came back : 66 DC, 67Cam and finally 67 DC. an interesting range of grades. In my opinion, it is actually a superb Pr 68 DC superbird variety, but I am afraid to let it out of my hands again. Bear
