1919 $1 Peace Broken Sword Reverse by Dan Carr

Received my D. Carr $1 Peace Broken Sword reverse. The Moonlight Mint 2x2 insert that the coin came with described it to be overstrike on a 1922-1935 Peace Silver Dollar. Maybe I am just confused or is it safe to assumed that an actual $1 Peace coin from 1922-35 was used? Loving this coin and other coin/medal/tokens ordered from Moonlight Mint. Thanks D.Carr.

Yes - all of his tokens of this type are overstruck on actual coins. His reasoning is that by using actual coins that prevents any appearance of counterfeiting.
