I am a coin guy and don't know much about currency. A friend has this note pictured below. Some questions:
1. What is it?
2. Is it real?
3. What is approx value?
4. Should he get it authenticated?
5. By whom?
Thanks in advance.

(1) $ 80 South Carolina Bill of credit issued to finance the revolutionary war. Engraved - and quite nicely - by Thomas Coram of Charleston - Man with sword on front with slogan Constantia Durissima Vincit: "The firmest constancy will conquer."
(2) A genuine note will be engraved, not printed; the signatures and number will be in a reddish-brown ink quite distinct in color from the engraved printing ; the paper will be yellow with no parallel lines I
Thanks for your input. In hand the note has the same coloring as the HA pix. Any thoughts on grade and/or value? Is there a reference catalogue for these things?
