June + Jimmy =100

Well, it happened again, my wife caught me in the ribs with an elbow while she was sleeping. My wife has the Jimmy arms when she sleeps. For those who don't know Jimmy, consider yourself lucky. Jimmy arms happen when someone's arms tic uncontrollably in their sleep. Anyway, it hurt, and since this is the second incident in the last couple of months, my wife felt horrible and has allowed me an extra $100 to spend on cards this month. I have thought about wearing body armor to sleep because of Jimmy, but that seems a little extreme. My wife needs entrance music when she goes into the bedroom to go to sleep, so the past few nights, I have blasted Metallica's Enter Sandman on our stereo when she enters the bedroom before going to bed. She hates that. Anyway I get the extra $100 to spend this month, and I have already got my eye on a special Joe Louis card I have wanted for a while now. I am going to work on my Joe Louis card collection for the month of June. Feel free to share what cards you will be looking to buy for the month of June. I kind of hope I get another elbow to the ribs next month, because my Larry Bird collection could use a tune-up. Feel free to share what you will be working on getting in June if you want.

My wife won't let me wear pants, only a kilt.

It's not so bad, my wife allows me 1 hour of yard time a day, plus all the bread and water I want.😉

In all seriousness, my wife and I decided to let her manage the money, because I spend too wildly if I manage it. I work at a homeless shelter, counseling and assisting homeless people, and helping them get back on their feet. I see all types of tragedies in my profession, and I like to come onto the forum, and share some stories about my wife and me, and my collecting adventures. I do not need to "wear the pants" in my family.

When I read this sentence, I thought that Friday must have been a big mail day at the doubledragon house. Glad you have an extra $100 to spend.

Hope you find some good loot with that $100.

Oh, yes. I already have some of it spent. I found a couple of Joe Louis boxing cards I've been looking for. I love the great Brown Bomber. He's one of my heroes. I will work on my Joe Louis collection this month. Next month probably my Larry Bird collection. I need to replace that Larry Bird card my Bassett Hound slobbered on and ruined a while back. She slobbered on it! I still wake up in a cold sweat over that.
