I believe the year was 1994 that I submitted a huge hockey order. If you look at the certs around this, there were some incredible cards. Well, 25 years later and I got one of my original cards back. Very excited about this.

Not years before, but I just had another card "boomerang" back to me as part of a large lot purchase. I'll post a pic when I get caught up on my scanning backlog.
I'd buy this one again at the right price: https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1018577/boomerang-card
When I was working on my 16th Series Wacky Packages set I made a big trade where I had to give up a few cards I really wanted to keep. I ended up buying them all back less than a year later when the other party needed to raise funds.
I bought this raw, subbed it, sold it to a friend in 1999 and bought it back last year.
I bought this on eBay years ago, had it authenticated and later used it in a trade for another item I had wanted for quite some time. A year or two later it ended up on eBay so I bought it again.
Beautiful! I see why you bought it back. Did your friend have it the entire time since purchasing it from you?

Yes, he wasn't a card collector or even a baseball fan. I just told him it would be a decent investment. I sold it to him for about $300 back then.
No. Once gone, they are gone.
I remember back when you originally posted about it on here. That is a beautiful card and glad you got it back.

Thanks! I take any opportunity to post pics of it, lol!
I actually messaged someone on here recently about something I sold them years ago, just seeing if they even still had it. No response.

He did well on it but in all honesty, since I bought it back last August, the prices on that card in PSA have gone crazy. It's not a card that I would sell because of the sentimental value. It was the first card I bought from my father back in the mid 1980's. Paid $95 from my hard earned paper route and lawn mowing money. I didn't care, I had to have it. After my father passed away now almost 2 years ago, I needed to get it back. I will be forever grateful that he kept it those 18 years.
YES...mostly rare video game cartridges...only happened a few times but it makes me very very reluctant to sell most anything. Because I'm scarred I'll regret it afterwards. I've had a few "false starts" in trying to start collecting 1971 (and 1972) Topps PSA 7's in hopes of one day getting a full set but sadly for various reasons had to sell them back. And while I've always dreamed of being able to do 1971 and to a slightly lesser extent 1972 (it has its appeal also, very colorful, it's PSA 7's are cheaper than 1971...and would be Topps' biggest set (787) from 1952-81.
But it wouldn't make sense to once again to start that quest again until, for example, I get the last 50ish 1974 commons to finish that set and a nice raw near set of 1973 (I got most of the blue chips in that set except Schmidt in PSA 7 already...I DON'T want to pay extra for additional raw ones I don't need) first. It would make sense to finish those first before starting anything further back, right?
