Years ago I traded a Homestake silver kilo for a PCGS OGH MS 65 1882 CCDumpl. Bad trade. The kilos shot up in price and DMPL designations of that era are now in question. Anyway, I regretted it ever since. I wanted to right that mistake and find another kilo but they proved elusive.
Then last week, a buddy that new I was on the hunt said he had a lead. His lead produce 3!!! I had first pick and after the 8 year wait I went ahead and splurged for two. I love the shape and size of thea kilo and history and heritage of this mine. Good to have that chapter closed and move on.
I also had my 5 Oz nugget photographed my my neighbor.
It’s been a drought of sorts but things started moving all at once lately.

Is there a decent premium on those Homestake kilos? I feel like I've seen them in the wild... may have to keep my eyes out.
Very high premium, homestake kilos are still going for top dollars.
I sold the one I had for 1,600 about two years back. Premiums on collectable bullion has become softer in many cases but I would still expect double, even triple spot for homestake kilos
All the ones I've ever seen were odd weight though, I think it would be awesome to have the 32.15 spot on bar (I'm sure it's out there)

Nice bars fellas, good gold too...
I agree. I feel the 100 Oz. Homestake silver bar brings the lowest per Oz premium and the 10 the highest. 10s lately are going for 800 ish repeatedly on eBay. Kilos tend to land somewhere in between price wise if you can find them. I like the kilo as it has a decent heft and feel in hand, a decent cool factor and bearable premium for what your getting. My wait was mostly over not wanting to pay an obscene retail eBay premium just to have one. Kinda why I don’t have a 10oz at the moment. I’m more for a face to face cash and carry deal with a handshake on pieces like this anyway.

Weiss, I'm not sure if anyone else notices, but, I love the way you photograph your PMs!!! Always so cool!!
Thank you! The reason I started MetalPorn was because I loved seeing the images of pirate treasure in National Geographics when I was a kid. Those and the old school images from Coins and CoinWorld always made my mouth water. So I try to capture the same thing in my images.
