HELP! Not getting ANY email notifications

I have not been getting any email notifications at all when anybody responds, or posts own one of my discussions etc...
I used to get them but they stopped. I checked off all boxes and yet when i go to my profile, i see it says "no notifications" yet people are definitely commenting on my discussions...
PLEASE HELP
