I suffer from recency bias and often love my most recent pickup the most. I'll buy a coin for $1,200 and will be like "go ahead and try to pry this from me for anything under $2500" then I'll upgrade it a year later and be like "meh give me $950 and it's yours" lol
Here are my two most recent pickups and they're definitely two of my favorites in the type set right now:
For at least 10+ years, I've a group of maybe 5ish coins that at any given time one of them could be my favorite. So it's a Schroedinger's cat sort of a deal.

Exactly why I haven't posted to this thread.
I just wanted this to be a cool coin showing off thread and I have not been disappointed. Post away you guys have the goods!

When I purchased this in early 1993 it was the most expensive piece I had bought up to that time, save gold coins of course. I had just sold a home in California, having transferred out of state and waiting nearly a year while the home sat on the market. The months before it sold were a bit lean since I was making house payments, rent etc in my new state. Then when the home sold and I had some extra cash again I started visiting coin shops on the weekends.
This had come into the coin shop where I purchased it in a 1930s era Penny board, with even some 1793's etc. This was just one I had to have. It is raw, ungraded by a TPG but is now in a capsule. I like the chocolate colour, the heft of the piece and the provenance having come out of an old collection that had by then been off the market since the 1940s.
I've since acquired many coins worth considerably more, have sold them etc and will be selling many more soon - this one is stuck with me though.

markelman1125---I really like that Spanish gold coin. I never realized they made a coin honoring George Washington.

I don't have a favorite since my favorites all come from the one design I collect now. My most expensive coin is certainly one of my favorites, which is primarily a function of how difficult it would be to replace it. For many, I effectively cannot and it isn't because of the quality reflected in the grade or eye appeal either.
My favorite coin is the coin my wife had in her shoe when we got married. Probably the furthest from the most expensive monetarily but the most valuable to me

The man dose look like Washington but he is the Spanish emperor Charles III
I knew that but when I first saw that coin I thought of George Washington. The winky emoji means that I was kidding.

That's incorrect, try again.
I think he meant Charles IIII. He was close and was only off by I.

My first toned peace dollar that started me on collecting them is still my fav after 10+ years. It was at the time the most I had paid for a coin, but I was just starting to collect. I'll use the sellers original pic that grabbed me.
It's a toss up between these two.... neither of which are my most expensive. I really like the way the "beaded" border frames the central devices on both the obverse and reverse creating a miniature artwork effect.

Definitely my favorite, but not the most expensive -
No. My favorite is the one I use for my profile pic here.

Far from most expensive...but almost flawless
This is from my sons collection, he always liked error coins. One of my favorites, so much going on with this coin.

One of the most overlooked series in Numismatics. Not my most expensive nor my favorite but the image tells a story that is seldom told.
edited to add-This is a 1734 Crown from the reign of George II

Never answered the question...No and mainly I choose not to play favorites with Art, History and design

I could only wish they did, but my opinion is that they are the most beautiful chiseled look of any coin. Thank you.

Still on the fence, I really like these three. Not my most expensive.

I keep coming back to this one because of the history, the design, and the die clashes that seem to have worked out perfectly.
I have several favorites but they aren’t not necessarily the most expensive.

What if you don't know which one is your most expensive?
Not the most expensive, but it would be this one. My wife bought this for me many years ago.
No far from it, as I found this in change one day.

Do you have other coins provenanced to the SGM Collection?
I'm not sure as I think I sold most of them over the years.
