Augusta, GA Coin Show Report

The Augusta Coin Club is holding their twice a year coin show this weekend on 5/24-5/25 and I stopped by yesterday.
It’s a small regional show with maybe 30-40 dealers. Everyone is usually super friendly. Lots of nice coins for sale but hardly any gold bullion. Tons of silver though. I was surprised by the lack of gold eagles available because typically I see a lot. There was plenty of graded gold $10 liberty eagles and $20 double eagles available. There was a dealer I chatted with for about 20 minutes who working in building a set I’d scare D-mint gold which always seems to perform well in Georgia. Super nice guy.
Looking for proof type material is usually tuff at these shows but I was surprised by the quantity I saw. A few proof seated halfs, quarters, and a handful of proof dimes.
I did make one pickup which I’m pretty happy about: a 1879 proof seated half in an old green PCGS holder with awesome toning.

Thanks for your show report @SeatedToners. Like the Liberty half and that is unique toning... I think it’s called reflective “youness.”
Thanks for the writeup and the seated looks amazing!
I love the color on that half! I't too bad I didn't know about this club when I was stationed near Augusta (Ft Gordon.) But that was nearly 50 years ago so the club might not have existed back then.
Thanks for the report, and that looks like a beautiful proof half!
I love coin shows! Thanks for the report and photos.
Thanks for the report.
