I decided to open up an EBay Store

davids5104davids5104 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭✭

The store is 4.99/month and I have 75 listings. I did it because vacations and time away make it really hard for me to guarantee my one day handling time "fast and free delivery" along with having to stop the auction or sales so you can go away. It was pretty easy to set up and I know for a fact I have wasted more than $5.00 a month on less.

Here is a link if anyone cares. https://www.ebay.com/str/coingala

    Coingratulations.
I have considered opening a bay store just for the ability to set “seller away” for the same reasons.
It is frustrating to have to close every listing while on vacation or away from home base, and the impact on seller metrics is negative if a sale occurs while away.
Seems like it would be fair to offer this “away” service to all sellers, not just stores, since we all put money in the bays pockets.
As a smaller seller with usually less than 50 listings, I have refused to pay the extra extortion, so far, opting instead to either close all listings or adjust the predicted handling times for away time.

    P. S.
    Nice collection of coin offerings!

I don't believe that the $4.99 store offers the final value fee discount. I am sure I will be corrected if I have that wrong.

Nice store and good luck! (but I would change "pennies" to "cents". ;)

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I am unsure where in the range of 4-9.15% coins fall for the final value fee. obvious the 4% is likely universally worth while, but the 9.15% for those with less business may not be a slam dunk. I will review my year.

Does the "4" refer to a minimum of 4 sales, or an actual final value fee of 4%?? Hard to believe they'd take a 6% haircut off the usual 10%!

The 4% is for the bullion category.

If you are only paying $4.99 a month, you are not getting the lower final value fee as you are in the "starter" category. What am I missing here?

You are accurate. I am NOT receiving the discount. I never stated I was. The next tier up offers a discount.

I have a Basic ebay store with around 400 BIN's which means I am paying 25 cents each on the extra 150 listings or about $37.50 extra per month which puts me almost at the Premium store level but I have yet to upgrade.

The ebay store works awesome if you have items that people want to buy.

I just downgraded from the basic to the starter store. At the end of the last few months I was leaving too many of my paid
listings on the table, not able to use 500 they give you with the basic store. Each month they give the people with starter stores extra listings to tempt you to increase your listings to the point you might think you need to upgrade to the basic store from the starter store. Also fixed priced listings are now the run em till cancelled type. Fixed price used to be
5, 10, and 30 days but now they are all good till cancelled. Once you get down to not having too many of your paid listings left you might be in a situation where you will be charged a relisting fee when your good till canceled item flips over and relists. They are shrewd and know that many people will miss this and they make more money. Of you think these changes are to benefit the seller, be advised otherwise!!

Yeah, That GTC certainly changed my routine. Now instead of relisting everyday I am ending as well as relisting everyday. I'm also relisting in the middle of the day instead of in the morning so I don't forget or sleep too late to stop listings from rolling over. I like to run my listings a month and then let them sleep for a month. I will say that's not happening now with all the free listings I'm being given all the sudden!

The problem with GTC is the only time your listings really show is when they are ending. When they automatically relist they do not show up in a newly listed search.
