Names change and the cars look weird now, but it is a great 3 or so hours on a warm Sunday afternoon.
I wish Danica had stuck around.

Mario had the coolest looking cars.
I use to when A.J. Foyt and the gang were racing...….not any more.
This Sunday is the greatest day in racing for couch potatoes,formula one's Monaco Grand Prix in the morning,next up is the Indy 500 "GO HINCH" then its off to Nascar for the Coca-Cola race,hey Coinstartled i saw some F1 races at Indy and the bleachers at Indianapolis is almost a third of a mile long imagine Tiger Stadium but with a much longer seating capacity!
Was at the 1981 race. Had seats at the second tier of the first turn. Looked across at the folks in the final turn seats and realized that they were nearly 3/4 of a mile away. 300,000 people enjoying the nice weather and the best racing in the world.
Gonna have some fun this weekend!

Sure it's not the same as far as the series and the drivers but it's still the Indy 500.
It would have been awesome to follow the series back in the day when the same guys at Indy would be at the state fairgrounds mile dirt tracks throughout the summer.

Got a speeding ticket in Speedway Indiana in 1980. Cop smiled and said slow down, the race hasn't started yet.
Figured they balanced their budget that weekend.
