Mays definitely. For 1 thing the Bowman rookies of both Mantle and Mays have been overlooked somewhat in comparison to their 2nd year '52 Topps. With Mays versus Aaron, you are always going to get the comparisons to the current best 5 tool player is (see Mike Trout). The comparisons to Mays as arguably the greatest all around player will continue for years.

And that’s why the 51B Mays should outsell the 51B and 52T Mantles.

Oh I know that. Hell, I’m usually the one saying that on these boards. But I couldn’t resist the opportunity to take a small jab at the most overrated player of the last 70 years ;) oops. That one was less small.

Whoops. Some Dave Kingman debate juice accidently spilled onto this thread. I'll get the paper towels.😉

It all depends, sometimes stats do matter more than popularity.

Hard to say. They both are about as equally popular and equal in stats. Aaron though is the RBI King, and to many the Home run king. IMO the Aaron rookie is a better looking card.

IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED
