Seller claims to have purchased it from California Numismatic Funding. I know the owner there and he's about as knowledgable as dealers get.
Either the seller is fibbing regarding where he located it or the coin is not a fake.
No way it is counterfeit AND where he claims to have purchased it are truthful.
The coin is a type 2 reverse and obverse. Date looks ok, CC looks ok, wear looks normal and the rope like line near the rim looks like a scratch. Coin has a lot pitting maybe from being in dirt and harshly cleaned. I am also interested why the OP belives it is a fake.
I'm not an expert on Trades and I know there are many fakes out there. The coin looks genuine to me with altered surfaces plus graffiti and other condition problems.

The more bad reports, the more chance of it being removed.
It looks abused but how do we tell it's fake ?
I do not collect these except one certified one in my type set.
I have reported it, but it was still up. I am trying to take it down, before another person in our hobby gets burned.
What do you see that makes you think its bogus?
It weighs 27 grams and non magnetic per the seller. It's been damaged, scratched, etc.
Why is it a fake?

Might think it's a fake because of comments in first thread posted about this coin.
