Just checked into our hotel off the coast of Samana. While I am not planning to do anything numismatics-related, i will keep an eye out for shiny gold things during my dives.

Anyone likes DR coins and has some to share?

Would be cool if you found some error coins during local commerce. Have fun. Peace Roy

    Beautiful family and beautiful location.

I find the older DR coins that are similar in size to their then US equivalents in circulation occasionally. The DR peso lost a lot of value in the past few years - good for tourism though as your dollar goes farther.

Thanks everyone. @IVB - nice Coins! The "wreck" ended up being a barge that sunk 15 years ago. No gold Escudos for me ;)

I did use to own a few of these 1/4 Reales before from Santo Domingo.
