Its a reprint? He doesn't have it listed as a reprint. He sold a Musial from the same set.

That's a card (set) that has always spooked me and have stayed away.

The original cards - "Homogenized" Bond Bread from 1947 were issued with rounded corners. Then at a later date, it's understood that they printed them up in "squared" corners.

Then in the 80s a large "find" came from a warehouse - I believe in NY - so that you would see ads in SCD for the whole set for a fair price - can't remember - something in the 200 buck range? If I can find an ad, I'll post it later.

Then, it was my understanding that a large amount were counterfeited in the early 2000s?

So my feeling was always to steer clear of this issue.

I don't think it is. I think it is original.

If the square versions are from a 80's warehouse find, then I would think they would be real.

The question at the time - I believe - was the fact that the square cards came out after the rounded and some questioned whether those were "actually" reprints - then?

Everything I'm saying is from memory and some good research might be best.

Again, some questioned the validity of the 80s "find" - again - were these "later" reprints - sort of like the Star cards - many believe they were reprinted way after they said the plates were destroyed?

The Christopher Cross track comes to mind. Got me 'spinning' lol. After reading all that crap, I'm still as confused as I was yesterday :|

I know for a fact, that as far as the Joe Louis Bond Bread card goes, the originals were issued in 1947 with rounded corners, and the square cornered version were issued in 1949.

I said I would post an add for these "square" cards if found an ad?

    Here ya go.

I remembered 200 bucks or so - pretty close. But, as said, I was always leery of the fact that they could be reprints of a sort?
