How do they get those hi-resolution images?

I am not asking about the pros and cons of a certain eBay consignment place...
I signed up for their marketplace today because I'm thinking of submitting some cards for one of their upcoming auctions. I must say the high-resolution images are really good! I thought the images on their eBay listings were pretty good, but the hi-res images on their site are terrific! Are they using a scanner or some sort of digital camera in a fixed position with proper lighting to capture their images?
Every time I try to take pictures of my cards, they never come out that good. Does anyone know what setup is needed to get those types of images from graded cards?

I can't believe how clear their scans are. It's like their scanning devices are using steroids.
Something like this I bet

According to ahemm... PWCC.. ahem...
This new technology is the result of significant research and development in specialized digital photography. We believe the resulting images are the finest available from any collectibles marketplace, offering investors the detail they need to make wise choices. In many ways, these images provide more detail than if the card were viewed in person.
So, some type of photography.. no scans there....
For the heck of it I max zoomed a PWCC high res scan and took a screenshot of the corner:
Here is a 150% zoom crop of one of my 400dpi scans:
