(Baseball) Fan Packs sent through the Mail (and digital)

I learned about this concept today, of emailing or snail mailing Fan Requests to MLB teams.
So I tried it out and so far I have received a few “No” relplies, tactfully worded to say I do not live in their “market”.
One Awesome team, known for requiring mailed requests, in their market, even replied!

This is exciting!
I am curious what the reasoning might be, for an exclusive locals only requirement that several teams seem to have. Maybe budget? I wonder if a SASE was sent would they still decline? That aspect is eclipsed by the teams that will “play ball”.

I sent requests out about 12 years ago, and got some pretty cool stuff in return. Usually left over giveaways they have laying around. The Red Sox used to send out dirt from Fenway. IDK if they still do that or not. That was one of the coolest.

Sweet! Got my first ever Fan Pack! Pirates hooked it up with 2 schedules, a magnet schedule, photo quality postcard, 2 bracelets, some tech tattoos and a cool looking sticker strip!
Thanks Pirates, arghhhhhh!

Pretty nice - the schedules and the postcard, that is.
They probably have a cases of those rubber band bracelets from (I'm guessing) 2013. I remember my boys getting them one summer. It felt as though the fad died within 5 months. Fidget spinners lasted longer. They probably have a bunch of those, too, but too heavy/costly to mail.

Mail day! The Reds even sent some Baseball Cards! Very cool!
Am I a cheap date, because I have more affection for these teams now? Lol

I used to send for those from the Dodgers every so often. I have tried a few other teams when I was motivated, but often didn't bother because I was not all that interested in the possibilities. That Eck card is cool in the 74T design though.

Maybe I should try the dodgers this year again...it's been a while now.
