I happened upon this Heritage listing, and found it quite fascinating. The encapsulated fragment gets its own cert#, plus the fact that the fragment stayed with the coin. Not to mention the error itself.

Shame they didn't mention it's also a uncentered broadstrike.
This might help the discussion - more coin less plastic.
Wonder if @ErrorsOnCoins has slabbed coins and fragments like this.
I wrote up that description, but I know
I included 'Broadstruck', 'Brdstk', or
'uncentered broad strike' (one of those!)
I assume that description was left off the
tag by accident.

Question from the ignorant: (Me! )
Detached from what? Detached from the collar, or from another coin? Ignorant minds need to know....
Detached from a prior coin's edge.

Thanks....I feel today was a success, since I'm now a little less ignorant.
I have handled (and have) many struck thru reeding errors which I find super cool.
This is the first one that I have seen with the reeding included.
great coin.
Best place to buy !

Way kewl!
Cool error! A shame there isnt a better way to slab the detached reeding. It appears unprofessional and might damage the fragment.
Interesting, I like it !!!
