Frustrating Mech Error

After waiting 90+ business days for my "40 business day" dual service order to pop (logged 11/16/18, popped last Fri.), I finally got it back today and opened it to find this beauty:

Obviously I'm happy that the autograph passed authentication and happy with the card grade, but how does that label error even happen? Almost 5 months of waiting and now it has to go back to PSA. Anyone know what the turnaround time for a mech error order is these days?

    An easy mistake to make🙄
    Nice card and auto btw

  • Different set, different sport... That kind of an error shouldn't even be possible.

Not nearly as egregious as yours, but I got this one back this week. It's supposed to be a 1989 Spanish Chicle, is really clear on the submission form, at least the player is correct

Well, it's a beautiful card. At least its preserved and protected. Beautiful card. I have to say, I feel a little jealousy stirring in me.

Nobody thinks that's an easy error to make since they are both named Aaron?

Sent this card in recently, and Hubie signed and returned it within a week!

Unless after Hubie signed you sent it in to be graded and it was mis-labled, you're in the wrong thread.

I love Hubie. I watch him announce games almost every weekend. He's got an unbelievable basketball IQ.

To answer the OP question. I received the card below and immediately contacted PSA and sent it back. They received it on April 3rd and it shipped out the next day (April 4th). Frustrating to have to send it back in but I have to give them credit for making this a quick turn around.

  • Thanks JBrules -- that's good to hear. And it's a miracle that your Bing wasn't damaged -- wow!

These things happen. Just part of card collecting. They fixed it really good. Looks beautiful.

Wow that’s a shame, Judge, cmon!
Call CS and have them review the error and request a quicker turnaround on the fix. Your initial wait was unacceptable. I’ve had Mech Errors take months to return.
I currently have a same dual service sub over 100 days that was logged 11/12. Waited until last month to call and was told one more week. Called this month and was issued vouchers. Still waiting and actually worried something is wrong. I’ve learned to try and catch the poppage before it ships so that I can review if there are any Mech Errors so that they can fix them immediately
Good luck and that Rodgers is fantastic!
Was it a private signing? Looks great

  • initialD, I don't know exactly where or when it was signed. I bought it six or seven years ago already in a blue flip holder (which had the correct name on the flip, I might add).
I did check the grades before the order shipped, but the card description was correct, so I didn't click on the individual cert number. After I opened the package and found the error, I did a cert verification and found that even though the card info is correct (says Rodgers, etc.), the "primary signer" is listed as Judge.
I entered the correct name on the online submission form, so mistakes just happen, I guess.
Good luck with your poppage. I agree that kind of wait is unacceptable.

  • I recently had one the had a duplicate cert #, waiting for CS to send me a label

  • i just got my roberto duran FOOTBALL PANINI !!!

Just checked the cert and yes that’s really odd. Head scratcher for sure
The authenticators must be processing so many Judges that they’re Aaron fried 🤪
Anyways, great buy and hopefully they take care of it quick

Yes I sent these in at the same time and for whatever reason they decided to change the flip on me and come up with their own color variation and put two wrestlers on there when there was clearly just one!

Wow, I know they are busy and there are new people there, but this seems to be a lot of errors. From my post about my poppage today where I had 21 label errors this isn't a trend I like to see. Maybe it's been this way for a while but we haven't posted about it?? Seems though, as these are pretty simple mistakes that shouldn't happen.
