New project: 1972 Topps set build – shout out to Dave (70ToppsFanatic) and Dave (PaulMaul)

Having completed a 1954 lower to mid-grade Topps set last year, I mentioned on the CU boards that I may be looking to build a higher grade (think PSA 7-8 without the PSA holders) 1972 set this year. ’72 is right up my alley in that it is the era around when I first started collecting.
Anyway, when I mentioned it, both Dave (PaulMaul) and Dave (70ToppsFanatic) reached out to me offering large lots of ‘72s at some really good prices. Between the two of them, I had a group of about 800 cards. After acquiring a few large lots from eBay, I had a starter lot of around 1,500 to pick the best specimens from.
I spent a good amount of time sorting and now I have 670 cards for the set build (around 85% of the 787 card set) and about 850 dupes to sell off (and finance the missing cards).
No pics this time around but I’ll be sure to post some when I complete the set. Thanks to the Daves for getting me started with the psychedelic ‘72’s!

    Hiya Daniel

    That's some start buddy!

    85%?

I'ld take me years to get that high with 787.

Looking forward to seeing some scans.

I'ld be looking for a really nice Fisk and of course Ryan and what about Baylor - also a favorite. I could go on but shouldn't.
