Morgan and Peace Dollar Rolls on eBay

Hello,

I see a lot of rolls on eBay stating they are from old collections. Does anyone have experience purchasing these? If so, what do you look for in the roll and how do you calculate what you are willing to pay?

Thank you for the assistance.

    Welcome to the forum @Roughneck8!

A few pointers and others may provide more:

Check feedback rating and count. Higher numbers; positive comments; and NOT from one or a group of the same people.

Check originating country, should be US, beware if the rolls are coming outside the US.

Finally, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Other places you can check is the BST (buy, sell, trade) forum on this site: https://forums.collectors.com/categories/buy-sell-trade-u-s-coins

    Or, https://www.collectors.com/

    Enjoy the hobby!

  • Thank you for the advice and the links.

It kind of depends if you are a gambling person. For the most part it is better to buy coins that you can see and confirm a grade. If you were going to take $2000 to Las Vegas you might stand a better chance with a roll, you may only lose $1000 vs $2000. Odds are not in your favor either way.
